MCP

Connect Claude, Codex, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to PlayRecon, and it answers questions about Steam games with PlayRecon data. The MCP page shows your compute units, your tokens and every call.

The MCP page: balance, tokens and the call log
The balance on top, then tokens and connected apps, then the calls, newest first.
  • Connect with a token. Try MCP in the panel issues a token, shown once, with the command for Claude Code, the settings for Codex or for any other agent, and a ready instruction to paste into the agent.
  • Connect by signing in. Apps that support it, such as ChatGPT, open a PlayRecon page where you allow access instead of using a token. They are listed under Connected apps, each with Disconnect.
  • Allow changes. Off by default, and then the assistant only reads. Turned on when the token is issued or the app is allowed, it can also add and remove Watchlist games, set up alerts and edit My game.
  • Tokens. Up to 10, one per assistant, with when each was created and last used. Revoke ends a token’s access at once.
  • Compute units. Each call costs units by the work behind it: a lookup about 1, a full analysis about 1,000; a repeated answer costs a fraction. The plan gives a monthly budget that resets on the 1st, and the balance shows what is left. Before a call that would take a large share of it, the assistant asks you.
  • More compute units — packs on top of the plan’s budget. The plan’s units are spent first, and a pack lasts 12 months.
  • Call log. Every call, newest first: time, tool, units, result, duration and which token or app made it. It keeps the tool and the numbers, not your questions or the answers.
  • What the assistant can use. Games, cohorts and slices of the Steam catalogue; the analyses behind the niche, release window, seasonality, fests and publishers; the site’s charts and lists; and, with your permission, your Watchlist, alerts, My game and publisher board.

Worth knowing

  • The page needs an account. Keep a token like a password; if one may have leaked, revoke it.
