PlayRecon Quiz

Can you guess which game has more reviews?

Two real Steam games, matched by genre. Pick the one that collected more reviews and keep going — one wrong call ends the run. Details below.

What is this?

Two real Steam games at a time. You see a screenshot, the tags, the blurb and who published each one, and pick the game that collected more reviews. Keep going and the run continues; one wrong call ends it. It is free, needs no account, and takes about a minute.

Where do the numbers come from?

Every number is Steam's own public review count. Of 131,843 games released in the last ten years, 49% never reached ten reviews, the median sits at 10, and nine in ten stayed below 311.

How are the pairs chosen?

Both games share a genre tag, both are self-published or both have a publisher, and their review counts differ by between 1.5 and 25 times. Seven naive strategies — pick the older one, the newer one, the one with more tags, the longer blurb, the shorter name, the left card — were measured on 800 pairs, and none of them beats a coin flip.

Data as of . Every number comes from Steam’s own public surfaces or is computed from them; definitions are in Metrics.
